Dr. Dattatraya Bhajibhakare is a distinguished Implant Prosthodontist with over 20 years of experience in dental technology and 12 years in implant prosthodontics. A pioneer in digital dentistry, he serves as Director of Dr. Datta’s Digital Dental Lab Pvt. Ltd. and Dr. Datta’s Prosthodontic Training Center in Aurangabad, and as Assistant Professor at HSRSM Dental College, Hingoli. A Fellow of ICOI and GCOI, and KOL for Dentsply Sirona and Noris Implants, Dr. Bhajibhakare has completed 700+ full-mouth rehabilitations and 300+ immediate loading cases. He has lectured internationally, including Myanmar and Ethiopia, sharing his expertise in implant prosthodontics and digital workflows.

Full arch prosthesis with zygomatic implants: Concepts and challenges
Rehabilitation of the severely atrophic maxilla with zygomatic implants offers prosthodontists a unique opportunity to restore function and esthetics without extensive grafting procedures. Success in these cases relies heavily on prosthodontic planning, accurate diagnosis, occlusal scheme selection, and integration of digital workflows for precise implant–prosthesis alignment. Critical aspects include impression protocols for angled implants, achieving passive fit in long-span frameworks, and designing prostheses that balance biomechanics with esthetic demands. Challenges such as limited interarch space, prosthesis retrievability, and management of peri-implant soft tissues require careful consideration. This presentation emphasizes the prosthodontist’s role in coordinating the surgical plan, anticipating prosthetic complications, and delivering long-term predictable outcomes with full-arch prostheses supported by zygomatic implants.
