As more individuals get vaccinated and countries ease Covid-19 regulations, the social resurrection has put the spotlight on a body part that has been hidden behind masks, teeth.

Cosmetic dentist Dr. Maddahi observed a trend among his patients in California, starting around March: Request for treatments, from teeth whitening to full smile-makeovers, was higher than pre-pandemic times.

Even global virtual consultations resumed as patients again consider traveling to the US for cosmetic dentistry procedures.

Why now? Maddahi told the key reason his patients have been giving is: “I’m not worried anymore.”

As more Americans being vaccinated and there’s an ease in Covid-19 restrictions, social schedules are filling up once again. The resurrection has led people clamoring for grooming products, such as nail polish, perfumes, and dresses. It has also put a special spotlight on a body part that has been hidden behind the masks for more than a year, teeth.

There has been a 47% rise in teeth whitening this year and an increase in teeth straightening, according to the firm SmileDirectClub, which sells clear aligners and teeth whitening kits.

“That's how big it is,” Dr. Sulitzer, the business's chief clinical officer, said. “And that's certainly because the masks are coming off.”

Dr. Sulitzer said along with eyes, smiles are one of the vital features on a person’s face people see when assessing one another. After staying months at home, people may be considering ways to feel better about themselves as they resume their social environments, the significance of a smile is just phenomenal.

Around September, more people started requesting some cosmetic procedures, such as straighter teeth or whiter teeth. It may have had something to do with many people working online via video conferences such as Zoom and showing their faces to their co-workers during pandemic.
